In reflection, looking back at the gig, I believe that I could have done much better than I did, I could have rehearsed and practised more, this would have given me much more confidence in the performance, and allowed me to play at my full ability. However, I believe that as a band we did the best that we could, as we ran into multiple issues when it came to deciding on a set list and getting rehearsal materials which massively shortened how much time we had to rehearse as a band and the fact that we managed to perform some what well is a genuine achievement.
Here is the Queen tribute band to compare against ours. They didn’t run into any of the issues that we had and therefore they had much more time to rehearse and practise, as is clearly shown by this video as they had a much more coherent and professional performance than we did.
In the future I will try to ensure that everything I need as a performer is already prepared before it is time to practise and rehearse to ensure that I have enough time to prepare and learn the songs, set-list, and performance.
