Other Aspects of Live Performance

Communication:

During the first week of rehearsals, we realised that communication as a band was incredibly important to our live performance and so we had a group meeting to discuss this and perfect our methods of communication between each other, this meant using hand signals instead of vocal communication as we cant talk or shout on stage as it can quite easily be heard by the audience and we need a form of communication that wont interrupt our performances. We also discussed our communication for during rehearsals as well as this allowed us to have better, more structured rehearsals to make sure that our live performance was ready to be done before hand.

Stage Presence:

To improve our stage presence, we made sure that we were confident playing our pieces and made sure that were knew where we were meant to be at what stage in each song, as movement is key in stage presence, personally, to improve my stage presence, I practised different types of body language to see which one best suited our bands style until i was confident that my body language fit in with the rest of the band.

Costume:

For what we wore, we didnt have a set dress code, however, we did agree, during an online conversation on messenger, that we should all dress smartly, wearing dress shirts, jeans, skirts, etcetera. Also, we agreed that darker coloured clothing would suit or band style more as our acoustic songs sounded quite mellow and deep and so we felt that darker colours suited this more.

Sound & Lighting:

For sound and lighting, we ran several sound checks during our mock performances to ensure that we sounded good as a band in the front of house, and that our monitor mixes were adequate for us as performers and allowed us to here what we needed to perform. However, we didnt have a very key role in the lighting, i do believe that the lighting was run eficiently and went well with our music and our bands collective style.
