Improved/What went Well?
Hairstyling – I feel, I have improved my skills by practicing on this projects look few times before the assessment , so I am quite happy with the results, feel confident with creating French Twist (pleat) on hair, as I had the opportunity to practice on actor’s hair, and other practice in the lessons, like curling hair using many different methods such as curling tongues, rollers, hot rollers etc. this has given me confidence with putting my own imaginative creation of hair styling from watching videos on youtube and looking through the Victorian times Hair styles, books from the college library. I practiced different hair style on my actor, by curling, back combing, putting hair in to buns and roles, using different pins to hold the styles etc. which enhanced my styling skills, and make me feel one step further. Makeup Over all I feel I am happy how the look turned out. My favorite part is the false lashes and contouring for lift, as these both methods enhance and make the features stand out. I feel I have gained more confidence in blending the shades well and contrast colours of eyeshadow, blush and lipstick. over all I feel happy with the final look I have created.
Makeup- Firstly I prepped the skin using cleanser, toner, moisturiser, then primed the skin and applied colour corrector to even the skin to one tone. I then applied foundation all over face and neck, then concealer under eyes. and contouring round the face, especially forehead (as she had slightly larger forehead), then eyes, I applied pale pink to base, then light orange to crease and darkened with maroonish brown to the out corners of wyes and to bottom lid, applied dark brown eyeshadow to shape eyebrows and to bottom eye lash line, applied liquid eyeliner to the top eyelash (as my model had hooded eyes, it kept transferring to the lid, so sudden change of plan for liquid instead of gel liner) then applied eyelashes, cheeks Applied baby pink blush but avoided the highlighter, as advise take from tutor that shine will look too flashy on screen, applied 2 shades of pink lipstick over lip liner and used loose powder with brush over lipstick to make it look matt and natural rather than shinny.
Hair – my plan was to keep fringe fluffy around the front with flick back on top of the puff, but on the day my model had very greasy hair as she didn’t get time to wash, so instead I separated to section of hair and clipped for latter, from the nape outwards to ears, I back comb the hair and used hair spray to lock the back combing, then top section I backcomb to the back to create volume to top, then lightly comb back hair to the right side of head and used few bobby pins fir grip in the nape and with my right hand 2 fingers I twisted the hair and pulled upwards to make the corn and sealed hair with pins to secure the style in place, tidied up with hair spray and comb. I am fairly happy with the outcome at the end.
Improvement/What to do next time?
The main thing for me is the eyeliner, and I wanted to use the gel liner and smudge on eyelid outer corner to give smoky look, but due to my actor’s hooded eyes the gel kept transferring on to the top eyelid and making the eyeshadow a mess, so instead I used the liquid liner but this gave dry look. Next time I will research further of how to use the gel eyeliner on hooded eyes and how it will set and not transfer on to the rest of the eyelid, so I can apply smoky eyes for enhancement of the look, also I like to focus on is applying the lipliner outside the natural lip line, when creating fuller lips, I feel the lip colour doesn’t justify for me for the fullness, which again I will research and practice for my next look. I hope the practice will make me more confident and enhance my makeup skills. with Hair – as my plan was the fringe hair to softly flick back on to the twist at the back, to create smooth front look, but on the day my actor’s hair was very greasy and still lot of hair spray from the day before practice, as she did not get time to wash her hair, so I had to change the plan and did back comb fully and created more volume in the hair for the style, therefore the fringe hair did not set smoothly as I wanted. Hopefully next time this miscommunication will not happen, and get 💯 results.

Improved/What went Well?
I am happy how the final look turned out, as I have never done black smoky eye before, I was really worried in case it becomes messy and waist time on the assessment day, but I practiced good few times and thanks to luccia who gave me tips on blending the transition colour with the black, I feel I have become confident with smoky eye makeup, The practice of makeup and Hair of different styles and using different products and watching demos and looking at images in the magazines certainly helped with the ideas of colours and styles and also the blending of makeup. I watched many demo video’s on youtube of makeup and Turban styles for ideas and practice. I feel the smoky eye makeup has become one of my favourite look now.
Makeup – After prepping the skin with cleanser, toner, moisturiser, primer, I applied the colour corrector under the eyes, around mouth and nose, and applied foundation with fingers and blended with the foundation brush and dabbed with beauty blender to give a smooth look, then I applied concealer Under the eyes on top of nose and forehead and blended out with beauty blender, then contoured her face around cheek bone, forehead, around chin and node and blended well with the contour brush. then applied loose powder to set the base , applied blush, and moved to the eyes, after applying the base and setting with the setting powder, I used light pinkish shade for the transition colour and applied dark maroonish brown colour to create C and blended well with small eyeshadow brush, then applied black gel eyeliner on mid eye section carefully taking it up to crease line, and around the eyeball to give round shape then blended with black eyeshadow to blend the sharp line, then went in with the maroonish brown shadow to blend and merge both colours together and applied black glitter in center of the eyes for the look to pop, then filled in eyebrows (which I threaded to tidy up and put it in shape couple of days earlier) with medium eyebrow colour, the applied false lashes and tidied little with eyeliner, I applied blush on cheeks and lightly tapped the blush brush over the nose tip to give a pinky tone, then highlighter to cheek bone and tip of the nose and on top of lips for extra shine which I took it down to her neckline too for the glamour look, then applied dark brunet lipliner and pink lipstick which matched the head turban.
Turban -Although there are many Turban styles around, but I liked this around the head style with Jewellery, as my model was young girl, this style really suited her well.
I comb back and tied pony of my models hair, then applied bun filler to the pony and fixed with few grips, the raped darker colour scarf around the to create little volume for the turban, then raped Pink colour scarf from front of the head keeping both sides equal in length and took it at the nape crossing on top of one side to other and bringing it to the front neck line, then applied jewelry (Tikka) in the middle parting and fixed the ends with the safety pins at the back and rapped both sides across one another on top of head and tucked the ends in side the loops it made when going across, And I used light pink/peach colour scarf around my models shoulders, as she had black t-shirt on and this look was looking totally odd with the t-shirt, the scarf around her shoulder also cover most of her upper body which gave a fresh costume look, and this completed my look. fairly happy with the look I managed to created, especially smoky eye makeup.
Improvement/What to do next time?
The main thing in this look was I wanted to create a glam look over all, I feel the highlighter was not bright enough to shine especially on neck line . I also forgot to apply high lighter to the inner corner of eyes which would have made the eyes pop more. I feel less confident in applying lipliner to out line lips for fuller look doesn’t seem to take the shape properly, and also struggle to create a eye wing liner – This means I will try to practice and Improve on Lipliner, eye wing liner and highlighting points as well as try to sort out the highlighter that is more brighter to make the look pop.
I also could arrange any particular costume for this look due to not knowing exact size clothing of my model. I like to try and bring in bridal outfit for my next look.
