Improved/What went well:
I practiced the look on the other students many times, each time I felt that it was taking me one step further. I used many different products to create the ghostly look with tired/sunk in features, including dirtying down the hair. I am happy with all the skills I have gained with blending colours of different textured makeup products. when creating a look, I tried to create the scars and the wound with fake blood and wet paint which got better over the time. on the doll head practise, I washed and curled hair after drying create the volume, and then used loose powder and dry shampoo to make it look rough and dirty with small Dutch plat in the back.
I think that the final look turned out fairly good. I applied the white base all over face, neck, hands and arms, I then applied brown as my first colour and darkened with grey and brown mixed to create the sunk in features using colour wheel, I used red with small brush around the nose and mouth to give cracked/sore look. I also used the dark brown and grey on hands nails to make it look dirty and run the grey lightly over both sides of hands. I made the wound slightly smaller than what I was getting in my practiced look as I feel It looked more realistic with grazes on the rest of face and tiny bits on hands. I mixed some blue and yellow in to red/brown to make the bruises look old healing. I decided to leave the hair down and not plated in back, I used back comb and applied loose powder and dry shampoo in the hair to give dirty/rough and untidy look and it worked with other components of the look well.
Improvement/ What to do next time
I feel the inner eye shadow and cheeks could have been bit more darkened to give the look more depth. My plan was to use the latex glue on lips to make them look cracked and over dry, but as my model was allergic to latex, I decided to use the loose powder over the colour wheelbase which didn’t do justice to the look of my imagination. I feel I could have applied the loose powder over the base to set it in place. I also forgot to darken the eyebrows and the bruises could have been bit more visible to make the look one step further.
What went well – 2nd look:
I feel although I didn’t have much time to practice on the second look, It turned out really well, I am happy with the outcome. I applied the white base all over the face, neck, arms and hands. I used light and dark brown shades for tired look, the brown shades blended better then grey, which I used in the practice that looked too dark, and it still gave sunk in look. the cuts and grazes on face and hands from gardening looks fairly good. I used red on lips using small brush to give the soreness look over loose powder. small hat sat really well on hair tied back with pony and bobby pins.
Improvement/ What I can do better next time
The plan was to create bushy eyebrows to give the look more dramatic, miscommunication overlooked the idea. eye shades could have been more blended to give more depth to Sunkinses of features. I forgot to apply loose powder over the base therefore the base got transferred from on the wooden walking stick. bruises needed to be little darker to make it look more visible and the cheeks could have looked slightly deeper with the contour to give the look one step further.
