Project 2 Research

-awareness of national curriculum-

The national curriculum was introduced in 1988 as a directive for states schools in the United Kingdom ( England, Wales and Northern Ireland. This provides a formal structure including what subjects can and cant be taught to students. The curriculum ensures that if a people were to move to another school they will not miss out on education, it is consistent and seamless educational plan without any knowledge gaps. from keystone one going all the way through to key stage 4 pupils will be assessed throughout there whole school journey to evaluate how they are keeping up with students alike and to decide wether or not they are making good progress or areas that there is room for improvement. from here this is when students are given special education needs help.

The United Kingdoms national curriculum has the following compulsory subjects that schools must teach all key stage 2 students.

  • Maths
  • English
  • Science
  • History
  • Geography
  • Design and Technology
  • Music
  • Art and Design
  • Physical education (this includes swimming)
  • Computing
  • Ancient and Modern Foreign Languages

Primary schools are also required to teach

  • Relationships and Health education
  • Religious Education (Parents may choose weather there child attends these lesson are not)

The national curriculum ensures that students in primary and secondary schools all meet the required standard they must reach. Different types of educational settings such as private schools and academies do not have to follow the national curriculum. However following a review that came to a close in November of 2024 academies must teach a broad array of subjects and a balanced curriculum including Maths, English, Science, Relationships and Sex Education and Religious Education following the guidelines of the national curriculum. The main aim of the national curriculum is to make sure that all children are learning the same things across the UK this ensures that each child receives equal opportunities and experiences through life.

We are linking our project to the national curriculum through the subject of history, we intend to use factual information to teach the children things about our countrys history keeping it education while still being entertaining for the children whom will attend our performances/ workshops.

need to write about how we are linking tour project to the national curriculum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
