Choices:

I have chosen LIPA as one of my choices because of the course and what it includes. This course both includes Songwriting and Performance, which is exactly what I researching for. It also includes the business side of the music industry, which will mean that I understand more about working in the music industry.

The location is in Liverpool, which means that if needs be, it would only be a fairly short train ride home. Liverpool itself has various opportunities to perform, and it is generally quite a nice place to be. I have already visited Liverpool a couple of times, therefore if I do get a chance to audition, then I will get to visit Liverpool again.

I have not been to any open days.

I have chosen BIMM as one of my university choices as it has a course which includes songwriting. Even though this course doesn’t include performance as well, there are plenty of opportunities outside of the course to perform. It also includes the business side of the music industry, which will mean that I understand more about working in the music industry.

Manchester has plenty of places to perform and many places to shop at, as BIMM is in the city centre.

The negative about BIMM is the fact that it doesn’t have it’s own student accommodation. However there is accommodation that many BIMM students use which are fairly close to the university.

I have been to an open day, and I enjoyed watching the performances and talking to the tutors about the actual course. Alongside this, I also booked an audition for the 20th of January.

I have chosen Leeds College of Music to apply to as it includes a songwriting course, I don’t know much about the course itself, however it does include business skills within the music industry.

The location is fairly close to Bradford, however if I was to go to this university, I would still move from Bradford into Leeds. I would prefer to move further away than this, but I kept my options open for different locations both close and further away.

I have not been to an open day, however I do hope to get an audition so that I can find out more about the course.

I have chosen Hull as one of my choices as it is contrasting from the other courses I have chosen. This course includes Popular Music, rather than songwriting or performance. However after researching the course details, it seems like a good choice to consider. I wanted to include a different course as it would broaden my choices and keep a wide variety of options open.

The location is one of the main reasons that I like this course as it is close to family and near to where I used to live.

I would have liked to attended an open day to understand the course better and view the university, however when I discovered this course, the open day had already passed.

ACM is a completely contrasting course to the rest as the location is much further away. I chose this course as it is slightly harder to get a place in. However the university overall looked ideal. The course itself is a songwriting course which means it would also be something that I want to study further. It includes the business side of the music industry as well as how to develop as an artist.

The location is the negative factor of this university, as it would be expensive to move to London, however it would also give me plenty of opportunities to perform.

I have not been to an open day, but if I got an audition, this would be an ideal opportunity to view the university.
