1st advertisement
For my first promotion I promoted a teaser video of my EP that was going to be released on the 1/06. I decided to promote this video as then hopefully people would be interested in the EP. For this promotion I spent £10.00. This was almost a trail promotion as I wanted to see the numbers and how it would affect my page and community on Facebook and Instagram. I ran this promotion for a day as the next day I would be releasing the EP. From £10.00 I reached 1,327 people. Even though I reached this amount of people I had little to no interaction with the video and the viewers, and I felt like I would have to spend a lot more money for people to notice it. This became a problem as I didn’t have a lot in my budget to spend on promotion. For the future I will bare this in mind on how much advertisements cost to run and the reach. I will also bare in mind the factor that I am wanting the interaction between the viewer and artist and I felt like this was somewhat non existent within this process.
2nd advertisement
For my second advertisement I was interested to see what would happen at a different price point and how this would effect the outcome. With £5.00 spent I reached more people but got way less video views. However I did get a couple of add clicks and some people who even listened to my EP. This meant that this advertisement worked somewhat better than the 1st one. However, again I didn’t feel the interaction between the artist and the listener. This therefore meant that I felt somewhat disappointed with the advertisements, because even though they got me views on my product, they didn’t gain many clicks or listens to the EP, or not as many as I was hoping for. For the future I could see what it would be like to spend a lot more on advertisement when I have the budget for it. However for now it was good to experiment with advertisements for the future. I have definitely learnt a lot from creating these advertisements.
