When I got the file from the producer I realised that he did slight mixing. This mix was a last minute mix.

This is what I did for the vocals. I moved some of the vocals as they weren’t placed on time and did some brief mixing with the compressor, reverb and automation. I also added some strings to make the song more fuller.

I also did an acoustic version for this song too to extend the EP. I muted everything apart from the vocals and guitar.
Overall Evaluation
Strengths
I believe that I did well on harmonising and adding vocal texture at some parts of the song. I believe that I did well with balancing the vocal harmonies for example, if I did two harmonies together I would automate the lower one to make it sound levelled out with the other harmony. the reason I chose automation rather than just turning it up was because not all of the harmony was too quiet only at some point. I also believe that I did well with the actual performance of it when recording it in the studio. although I didn’t add all the vocals I was rehearsing for this song I like how the song turned out because less vocal made it more chilled out and calm. Because the mixing was last minute I believe that I did well in the time I did it in which was around 1 hour. I believe that the beat was more heard at there was less vocals.
Weaknesses
I believe that I could of recording the song quicker if I pushed myself a bit more. at first it was going well and we was recording everything on time but the we left the song a bit and came back to it right at the end. I believe that I could of worked better on playing the guitar when recording the for the track. I believe that I could of worked on the pitch range in this song and record more higher melodies or harmonies to have pitch balance rather than singing it all at the same pitch which makes the song overall a bit boring. I believe that because we didn’t record more vocals to this song later on and had a little gap, I ended up being less creative with the song which made the song slightly plain.
