Sonnet & Band composition – Evaluation

Strength and weaknesses of the sonnet composition.

The strength of my compositions were that, i believe that it created the right mood and the mood represented the sonnet well. The composition also complimented the meaning of the sonnet well. The composition itself sounded well put together and it also sounded like i put my heart into the composition. Everything was in time and nothing was in the wrong key.

The weaknesses for this composition would definetly be the understanding of technical recording and the use of pro logic, the reason i think that is because it took me a while to get in the hang of using logic pro, i would like to improve on using editing skills so that maybe next time i could add on sound effects to my composition and in genral to get better at using pro logic. I would also like to start practicing adding on drum kits as there are different genres id like to compose. I would also like to start composing different genres and time signatures.

I believe i could of made my sonnet composition better by adding more texture to the score and used sound effects to make it more effective, next time i will make sure to research better and look at different sound  effects and effects in genral on logic pro.

Strengths and weaknesses of the band composition

The strengths of the band composition was that, we all worked well as a group to come up with the chor progression and the structure of the song. I believe the genre was suitable to the story that was told in this song. The lyrics I wrote were also suitable for the story/song and the 1st person narrative was effective.

The weaknesses of this composition for my chorus was that the lyrics were repetetive, i could of improved  it by writing more lyrics. What i could of included while performing the song was add and sing melodies while Ant is rapping, this would fill out the song more. For next time i would like to focus on composing for different genres and time signatures as well as working on different rythm patterns, and start improvising and playing with the song more and not just sticking to the same melody through out the song.
