What i did:
These are the screenshots of all the different types of EQ fillers i used for the instruments. These screenshots show exactly what EQ is applied to each track. I started off with once again adjusting the sound levels by turning the instruments that were too loud down and turning the ones that were too quiet up so that they were balanced. The drums were once too quiet and later on in the song he drums ere too loud. I had to i had to turn it up so that it wasn’t too quiet and it wasn’t too loud. I mixed the drum kit and added EQ to try making the beat more alive and clearer, as that would pick the song up. Then I made the bass and guitar sound the clearer. For the drum kit i added panning for the right and left overhead. The bass was playing from the left speaker and the guitar from the right. The reason I did that was because i wanted to balance it out.
For the vocals i adjusted the sound so that you could hear the vocals. I made sure they were sounding clear. I turned both of the vocals up. Sonny’s voice was a quieter, I turned him up a bit more. As seen on these screenshots i played around with the compressor and echo. I slightly added echo for both vocals for more definition.
Evaluation
I believe that the final mixed piece has improved. Each time i practised to mix i was setting my self targets. As said before in the Evaluation of the first mixing i did, I wanted to work on the vocals more and start adding effects. On this final mix i added echo on the vocals which made it sound better. What was tricky for me was that the drums were once too quiet and then louder.
I believe that the mixing could definitely be done a lot better with more time and knowledge about Logic pro. The vocals could definitely be more mixed and the guitar. I would definitely like to research more about different types of EQ fillers, practice using the all the effects and in generally practice using the software with live recordings more.
