Mock performance and evaluation
The mock performance took place in the henry mitchell hall infront of our tutors, the other two bands and some students from a media course.
The pros for the mock performance were, that the band knew what they were doing most of the time and didnt mess up. It didnt get to a point where someone stopped and didnt know what they were doing. The band knew when to drop out and when to come back in without making any major mistakes.
The cons for the mock performance were, that there wasn’t a lot of communication between the band members, everyone just did their own thing. In the song ‘Ms Jackson’ where all the instruments dropped out so that our rapper (Ant) could rap the words ‘for ever?’ in the middle of the second verse, he rapped too late and the instruments came in slightly too late. In the song ‘All along watchtower’ I didnt have my lyric sheets, i had to read off a phone and it looked un professional and I wasn’t looking at the audience or making any communication or eye contact with my band. For the second band i had way too much lyric sheets and while singing some of my cheets fell on the floor and i had to pick them up.
When the bands were changing around, there was a big gap where no one was on stage and then when the guitarists and bassists came on they were still tuningtheir instruments. because of that the audience got a bit bored, tuning instruments should’ve been done before the gig started.
Final performance and evaluation
The final performance took place in the Henry Mitchell hall at bradford college, infront of out target audience which was family, friends, students and teachers.
